Welcome to Amateur Radio Watch!

Watchdog

Amateur Radio's Watchdog Host

Amateur radio operators should try our best to resolve our on the air problems among ourselves, whenever we can. We are encouraged to self-police to the fullest extent possible, and only contact the federal authorities when our efforts at self-policing have failed.

Amateur Radio Watch is designed to empower amateurs who want to engage in the most effective self-enforcement possible. Our Watches serve as a place for concerned amateurs to organize their work and make the information they gather available to others. In many cases, simple peer-pressure will do the job when a polite note to the offender is rebuffed or ignored.

If it does turn out to be necessary to contact the FCC, a well-documented report will be more actionable, more likely to lead to an effective enforcement action.

The guiding principles here at ARWatch are contained within the FCC's PART97 regulations governing amateur radio, The Amateur's Code, and the late Carl Sagan's invaluable Baloney Detection Kit.

If you would like to show your support or to participate in one of the Watches, our membership is free, and open to all amateur radio operators.
